Brigidine Sister Seeking Justice for Refugees

With the support of her Brigidine Sisters and others, Jane Keogh csb recently visited Manus Island with another member of the Canberra St Vincent de Paul Society. The main purpose of their visit was to offer whatever hope and support they could to the refugees still being held in detention there, and to explore with them any possible ways they might be able to proceed once the detention centre is closed.

Jane’s accounts of their visit have been published in “The Canberra Times” and on www.cathnews.com.au. May this coverage help in some ways to keep alive the struggle for justice for people seeking asylum.

Brigidine Sisters recognize that we are being called to engage with the challenges of our contemporary world and to respond with our prayer and decisive action for justice.
