Make Your School Slavery Free

Brigidine Sister Louise Cleary CSB , a founder of ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans), was recently involved with the a number of school students, teachers, Archbishop Comensoli and others in the launch of a slavery free resource kit for schools. Simultaneous launches occurred in Hobart and the Catholic Education Conference being held in Melbourne. The Victorian country dioceses of Ballarat, Sandhurst and Sale have also held similar events in their offices or schools in recent days and are developing action plans.

The 2016 Brigidine Congregational Forum called all Brigidine Sisters to commit “to the purchase of Fair Trade and other products which promote social and environmental well-being.”

This may be an appropriate time to review our response to this call to decisive action for justice in our homes and places of ministry.
