UN World Day of Social Justice

The United Nations’ World Day of Social Justice is annually observed on February 20 to encourage people everywhere to seriously consider how social justice affects poverty eradication. It also focuses on the goal of achieving full employment and support for social integration.

The theme of the 2020 World Day of Social Justice is “Closing the Inequalities Gap to Achieve Social Justice.”

Brigidine Sisters believe that a different future is possible. We will continue to use whatever resources we have with generosity, compassion and justice and build effective partnerships to take decisive action that will help close the gap and bring about greater justice for our common home and all.

St Brigid, our Patroness, woman of compassion and with a heart for justice, inspire us to be actively engaged in the challenges of our contemporary world which is so often marked by inequalities and injustices.

Daniel Delany, our Founder, we remember that when you saw a need in your society, you took action and responded to it. Help us to discern the many needs of this time and to respond appropriately and creatively.
