200th anniversary of the death of Bishop Daniel Delany

On the 8th and 9th July commemorative services were held in Ireland at Paddock, Mountrath, and Tullow, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the death of Bishop Daniel Delany (1747 – 1814).

Here we have the Mass of Thanksgiving held at St Fintan’s church, Mountrath. Brigidines and Patricians have been celebrating the Mass here since 1867. 

Following is the ceremony at Delany’s birthplace of Paddock. His home stands on the property of the Bennett family who have brought the ruin back to life and are happy to share it with us.
