The World Day of Peace is celebrated annually on 1 January. On this day the pope gives a special message, which is sent to all foreign ministers around the world and which indicates the Holy See’s diplomatic tone for the coming year.
The theme of the Pope’s message for 2019 is: “Good Politics is at the Service of Peace.”
