Australia has a new Ambassador to the Holy See, Ambassador Chiara Porro. Chiara is a 36 year old mother of two boys and she has a passion for youth outreach. She was born in Milan, Italy and has served in diplomatic posts in India, West Africa, and on the Pacific island of New Caledonia and has been collaborating with the bishops in the Pacific islands, where she says the Church plays an important and often unrecognized role in education, healthcare, and disaster response. She is currently the only resident ambassador from the Pacific region in the Vatican diplomatic corps.
