On this weekend in Year C, we read another of the wonderful post – Easter stories of Jesus and the disciples from the Gospel of John 21:1-19. We hear of Peter seeming to take a lead – “I’m going fishing!” We read of the frustration experienced by the disciples after a night’s fruitless fishing and of Jesus suggestion to them to “Throw the net out to starboard”. This led to their nets holding so many fish they had difficulty hauling it in and Peter’s profession of faith and recognition of the Lord.
May our listening to and reflecting on the Word this week lead us to recognize the Risen Lord still with us today and inviting us to recognize him and follow him in our day-to-day lives
* What part of the Gospel reading for this weekend offers a challenge to you?
*What aspect of these stories bring you comfort and reassurance?
