Each day brings news of more and more people being forced to leave their homes and families to seek protection and a place of refuge. As all nations deal with the numerous challenges of covid-19 and its impact on economies, services and resources, many asylum seekers suffer new hardships and injustices.
In light of this, Brigidine Sisters strive to take to heart Jesus’ words: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matt 25) and feel impelled to take action, in small and larger ways, to respond to the needs of these people with compassion and courage.
In each of our Communities, Sisters are engaging with these challenges in different ways – by prayer, advocacy, volunteering time, making donations and other practical actions.
