There have been so many times of waiting in the past year. We’ve waited for results of tests. We’ve waited for lockdown restrictions to be eased. Some have waited with a family member or friend in their final days of life. Others have waited for news of a loved one or for results of their efforts at work.
We all wait with the pain of racism, exclusion and rejection experienced by others and sometimes in our own lives.
Each day we open ourselves and wait with the mystery of Divine Energy present in the ordinariness of our lives and in the sacredness of all creation.
In this final week of Advent, we endeavour to ensure some moments of waiting in silence, aware of the cry of the Earth and the many manifestations of exploitation, suffering and injustice, especially for women and girls in the world.
Come Jesus, renew us and our world.
