This campaign which runs from November 25 to December 10 – (Human Rights Day) is the UN 16 Days Campaign of Activism Against Gender Violence. It invites everyone to consider the different forms of violence that women and girls face today. The 2016 theme is: ‘From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Make Education Safe for All!”
Human trafficking is one of the greatest examples of violence against women and girls. Human trafficking is a $150 billion global industry –and growing. As well, millions of women and girls are forced to work in terrible conditions for little, or no pay and no chance of an education.
