Pope Francis recently attended an Ecumenical Prayer Service in the Lutheran Cathedral in the City of Lund, Sweden. This occasion was in the context of the commemoration of the Reformation of 1517 and to acknowledge that after fifty years of ecumenical dialogue between Lutherans and Catholics there is now a new opportunity for reconciliation and “to mend a critical moment in our history”.
