When Pope Francis opened the doors to the poor on this day he welcomed thousands of refugees, unemployed and homeless as his guests at a luncheon inside the Vatican.
He mingled and posed for photos with his guests.
Prior to the meal in the Paul VI hall, Pope Francis celebrated the Eucharist during which he is reported as citing indifference to those in need as the greatest sin, and he reminded people that “God will not ask us if we felt righteous indignation, but whether we did some good.”
