This feast day is a fitting remembrance of two “strong and gentle women” – Mary of Nazareth and her cousin, Elizabeth. (Refer Luke 1:39 – 56).
As we remember these two hospitable and loving women this year, we pray for all women throughout the world, especially those who have embraced life within them and await the birth of a child.
May the life of each woman be a blessing for all those they meet in life and help transform grief, loss and pain into new life and hope for others.
“As we respond in trust to the mystery of God who goes before us, may each Brigidine woman freely share her gifts with generosity. Together may we play our part in bringing to birth a deep understanding of our interconnectedness with the sacred in all life.”
