Sisters and Bishops Discuss Declining Numbers of Women Religious in US

At a recent meeting in Chicago, women religious, canon lawyers and bishops met with other leaders to deepen an understanding of the significant decline in the number of Sisters in the US and some of the implications of this for the Church.

A key workshop during the two-day meeting was “Fidelity to the Journey: Together in Communion”.

It is anticipated that there will be further gatherings or meetings in regional areas as it is believed that such dialogue will assist all to move forward and live in renewed faith and hope.
