The Gospel for the 5th Sunday in Ordinary time (Luke 5:1-11) is yet another account of how Jesus’ call demands a response of trust and faith by Peter and the other disciples. It also offers us a timely reminder that we too are called to trust . All of us ‘sail deep and sometimes threatening waters’ in our lives. However, as Christians, through the waters of Baptism, we’ve been plunged into a life long journey of living deeply with faith in God.
When in the coming week, might you be invited to take to heart Jesus’ words to Peter: “Do not be afraid!”?
What steps do you need to be prepared to take to overcome some of the fears or anxieties that hold you back from trusting in your life?
