The Brigidine Sisters in NSW recently organized a fundraising afternoon tea in support of the people of Coonamble. This is the town where the first Brigidine Foundation was established in Australia in 1883.
The money raised at the afternoon tea was donated to provide farmers, farming contractors and farm workers some help with every day expenses during the drought which continues to have a devastating effect on the area around Coonamble.
As the funds can only be expended in the Coonamble Shire they have a flow on effect of benefiting the local businesses which are the backbone of the community. The solidarity and donation will support a number of farmers and small businesses to keep going while the difficult seasonal conditions remain.
May we continue to pray for and support all families and others in businesses as they struggle through difficult and stressful times.
