This National Day of Remembrance, held annually on 25 April in New Zealand and Australia, is a day on which we honour all who died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations, and remember the contribution and suffering of all who have served.
“They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we shall remember them.
Lest we forget”.
As we mark ANZAC Day 2020, we pray for an end to all conflicts and war everywhere and for peace in our world. Let’s remember in particular those places where violence and war still threaten the lives of thousands of people and the environment.
