Beware: Words Make A Difference

The human dignity of each person is a key value for all working to eliminate human trafficking and support victims and survivors of trafficking. Each and every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and mercy.

The following reflection by Kris Wade, Executive Director of the Justice Project KC, and Member of the US Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking (USCSAHT) Survivor Services Working Group, alerts us to a number of issues around the use of negative and dehumanizing language when talking about sexually exploited persons.
