Called to Be Moved With Compassion

Mark 1:40 – 45 invites all to reflect on the very painful human experience of not being invited, of being excluded and judged by others as “unclean” or infectious.

Mark presents Jesus as making a very different response ie of being “moved by compassion” when aapproached by a man with leprosy.

In this time of pandemic, when so many experience isolation, exclusion and fraility, what attitudes and action might we be called to as followers of Jesus?

When we hear the stories of asylum seekers and migrants not being welcomed or people suffering addictions and mental illness being judged as ‘threats”, what responses might ensure true inclusion and healing?
