The newly established CERA – Catholic Emergency Relief Australia – has been set up to serve as a coordination point for Catholic agencies responding to natural disasters.
Founding organisations – the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, Catholic Religious Australia, Catholic Social Services Australia and the National Catholic Education Commission have established this new initiative to ensure coordination for Catholic agencies responding to natural disasters. Called CERA – Catholic Emergency Relief Australia, has evolved particularly out of recent devastating bushfires around Australia.
In the meanwhile all are encouraged to make donations to their local St Vincent de Paul Society to assist people in rebuilding their lives and their properties.
