Mellbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools and the Rerum Novarum Foundation have recently announced the winners of the inaugural Rerum Novarum Awards. Students in Years 10 to 12 were asked to address a social justice issue in their community, using the ‘See, Judge, Act’ method to apply the principles of Catholic social teaching to their project. Proposals included a research paper, a video submission, a project impact report and a funding proposal. Three grants, one each of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500, were available to the winning projects.
