The Gospel text for the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A, is fitting for all who live with oppression, racism, exploitation and fear particularly at this time. It is taken from Matthew 10:26-33.
Jesus, who knew how fear felt in the face of threats and suffering, reminds his disciples of their God-given dignity and value and calls them, and us, to trust in our Creator God who knows and values each one.
The following words by Veronica Lawson RSM offer some reflective thoughts as we bring to prayer in the coming week our current personal and global experiences of fear.
