Earthbeat: Honouring Sr Dorothy Stang

Brigidine Sisters draw inspiration from Sr. Dorothy Stang who lived and was murdered among the people and the jungle in the Amazon. Rather than a wilderness without human inhabitants, the jungle for Stang was an interconnected web in which humans could live in a sustainable manner. Let’s consider our own environments – what we love about the places where we live and how we might feel if the places we call home were being threaten.

What wisdom can we draw from Dorothy Stang and the people of the Amazon region?

As a Congregation we are in solidarity with people defending the places where they live eg on Pacific Islands such as Kiritabi and Tuvalu through our participation in Pacific Calling Partnership
