Dealing with the experience of loss is part of our everyday human experience. Dealing with the death of someone we love is probably one of the most painful experiences of loss in our lives.
The Christian Feast of the Ascension invites us to consider our experiences of loss in light of the experiences of Jesus and of his early followers. This day invites us to reflect on the Mystery of Jesus’ presence and his absence in life and the mission he has handed on to us.
The Gospel for the Feast of the Ascension, Year C is taken from the Gospel of Luke 24: 46-53.
