The Brigidine Sisters at Solas Bhride, together with their staff and members of Cairde Bhride, have started the countdown to Feile Bhride 2020. There is an exciting mix of activities and events planned to celebrate the feast of one of Ireland’s most celebrated women – Brigid of Kildare.
Feile Bhride begins on the eve of Brigid’s day (ie 31 January) and of the Northern Springtime with a pilgrimage of quiet reflection, song and prayer at St Brigid’s Well. (Assemble at the Japanese Garden’s Carpark at 7.20pm. If you wish bring a lantern).
If you want to know how to weave a St Brigid’s Cross and learn of its significance, join a workshop at 10.30am on 1 February at Solas Bhride. This will be followed in the afternoon by revisiting the traditions and customs associated with St Brigid. Visitors and pilgrims welcome throughout the day.
