Fifth Sunday of Easter 2020

In the Gospel reading for this weekend from John 14:1-12 we hear loud and clear the following invitation from Jesus: “Do not let your hearts be troubled” .

This seems particularly pertinent to us, his followers as we and all Earth’s peoples live in this time of pandemic. How often we hear commentators reminding us that this is “an unprecedented time”! However, we believe that the God of life remains with us each and every day and we continue to trust. We remember especially at this time, those suffering grief, fear and anxiety in the face of the loss of loved ones, friends, homes, jobs and businesses due to the impacts of Covid-19.

The following reflection by Veronica Lawson RSM is offered to support us in our prayer and our daily living with trust in the coming week: Gospel Reflection
