On this sacred day in the Christian calendar when we remember the passion and death of Jesus, we spend time in prayer and reflection, alone and with others in our local faith communities. We listen to the Scripture stories and strive to understand their true meaning. We pray for the needs of all, especially those who are suffering today: those carrying a cross of suffering, abuse, persecution or illness; those experiencing a struggle with addiction, grief, depression or homelessness; those forced from their homes by war, exploitation and violence. Jesus, remember us when you come into your kingdom!
On this particular Good Friday we are aware that our Jewish brothers and sisters are celebrating the beginning of the Passover and we unite with them in prayer to the one God of all.
May the following video reflection by Maria Forde add to our reflections on Good Friday.
