Sister Denise LaRock, DC, a Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul in San Antonio is an inspiration particularly during this week in which the Church honours the holy family of Mary, Joseph and Jesus – a refugee family in their own time.
Denise works with the Inter-faith Coalition in San Antonio, who daily welcome asylum seekers arriving at the bus station.
Others, including Brigidine Sister Agnes Oman CSB and one of our Associates, Carol Maloney Reyes, are involved in this ministry of welcome at another point in the city. These women take their inspiration from the words of the Bible about how to treat foreigners.
