Our prayers and thoughts are with all facing the threat and terror of bush fires in Queensland and New South Wales. Apart from the impact of severe drought on so many farmers, families and local communities in these areas some people are now facing the devastation of fires. We also remember the thousands still recovering for extensive fires in California in recent weeks.
Please join us in praying for those who’ve died in these fires, their families and loved ones and those who have been injured. Let us remember those trapped on their properties and those who’ve lost homes, other buildings, stock and belongings.
We pray for all who are fighting the fires, emergency workers, support personnel and anyone still in danger. We mourn the loss of so much of the flora and fauna in these areas.
“Hear our prayer O God; let our prayer come to you. Do not hide your face from us in the day of distress.” (Psalm 102:1- Adapted)
