“Do not let your hearts be troubled”

The Gospel for the Sixth Sunday of Easter, Year C is taken from the Gospel of John 14:23 – 29.

The following reflection on this text is offered for prayer and reflection in the coming week. It first appeared at  https://www.mercyworld.org/

During the coming week let’s consider the ways we are each being invited to express our love in the keeping of God’s word in the events of a day.

When our hearts becomes troubled or afraid in the face of a “muddled”, visionless world, let’s practise the discipline of taking a moment’s pause:

– a moment’s pause to remember the presence of God’s Spirit at work in all,

– a moment’s pause to remember Jesus’ promise to be faithful to his followers

– a moment’s pause to allow God’s gift of peace to settle within and hold your heart.
