Life for everyone is full of challenges about balancing reponsibilities and alliances. The Gospel reading for the 29th Sunday in Year A includes the story of Jesus being asked a tricky question about one of these challenges.
When you think about giving to God the things that are God’s, what are your immediate thoughts? Perhaps you think of prayer, praise or gratitude. Perhaps it is what your do, or be, for the others in your life. When you consider your responsibilities to civic and other authorities, what comes to mind?
In the coming week, let’s ask for the grace to grapple with these challenges with truth and sincerity.
