More Drown Fleeing Poverty & Conflict

Brigidine Sisters are deeply saddened to learn of the drowning of more than another fifty people this week after a boat capsized off the Libyan coast. It is reported that more than 1,100 children women and men have lost their lives already in the Mediterranean this year.

We will continue to advocate for laws which safeguard the lives and dignity of each and every person and take some decisive action to bring an end to the poverty and conflict that force people to make such treacherous choices.

We pray for all who have been lost and for all who seek safe refuge and a future of hope.
