One in A Hundred Most Influential

Brigidine Sisters offer congratulations to Sr. Norma Pimentel, a Missionary of Jesus and executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, who has received many awards over the years for her work in Texas with migrants along the U.S.-Mexican border.

She has recently been nominated as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2020 and is reported as saying she hopes this nomination  will “bring more understanding and help people see more clearly what we can each do to respect all human life, especially the most vulnerable.”

We give thanks too for the ongoing ministries of each of our Brigidine Sisters and Associates in Texas as they continue to support people in need and advocate and take action for justice.
