Brigidine Sisters have many connections with people from Sri Lanka – they are students in our schools or university classes, parishioners alongside of us in church and our neighbours.
With the resignation of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, protests over the nation’s worsening economic crisis have turned violent. A curfew has been imposed on the population of 22 million people who are experiencing great difficulties finding fuel, basic items of food supplies and medicines.
Let us pray for our sisters and brothers in Sri Lanka that justice and peace will be restored over violence and unrest. May credible political leaders emerge to bring an end to this suffering.
