As the world marks World Water Day this week, the UN asks us to consider what water means to us? We know the value of water is profound and complex and that there is no aspect of sustainable development that does not fundamentally rely upon it. Millions around the world still do not have access to a safe water supply.
However in many parts of New South Wales and Queensland extensive flooding is occurring this week bringing huge damage to properties, homes, farms, infrastructure and stock.
Brigidine Sisters have communities, family members, colleagues in ministry and friends affected by these issues. Let’s heed the challenges of this time and take decisive action for greater ecological and social justice for all.
