The Presentation Sisters were founded in Ireland in 1775 by Nano Nagle. A small group of Sisters travelled from Ireland to Tasmania in1866 and purchased a property, Maryknoll in 1929. Since then the site has been used as a prayer and spirituality centre with thousands of people visiting Maryknoll for peace and reflection.
The Presentation Sisters recently gifted this magnificent coastal property to CatholicCare Tasmania to be used as a site to build social and affordable housing and improve the wellbeing of individuals, families and the community.
This following short video outlines how the Church in Tasmania is uniting to help overcome homelessness and how the Sisters have decided, in the spirit of Nano Nagle, to leave a wonderful legacy for the good of others.
