St Josephine Bakhita Campus Opens

Brigidine Sisters give thanks that the Australian Catholic University has formally opened its newest addition in western Sydney and named it – the St Josephine Bakhita Campus.

The federal Minister for Education, Alan Tudge, officially opened the campus, to provide a place to study close to home for more than 18,000 tertiary students who would otherwise travel across the city to attend university.

Parramatta Bishop Vincent Long Van Nguyen OFM Conv., blessed the campus, which is named for St Josephine Bakhita, patron saint for victims of slavery and human trafficking and of South Sudan. May her story of courage and grace inspire all who work and study at this campus.

St Josephine Bakhita, help us all to break the shackles of slavery and human trafficking still impacting millions of children, women and men today.
