“That They May Have Life Abundantly”

The Gospel reading from John 10:1-10 and Psalm 23 for the Fourth Sunday of Easter, Year A are ones with which we are very familiar and which fill us with hope and offer us challenges for our living especially as the Covid-19 pandemic is creating “some kind of new normal” for us and for the world.

When you hear – “The Lord is my shepherd there is nothing I shall want” – what invitation to life is presented to you? What challenge?

When Jesus proclaims – “I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full” – what call do you sense in your day-to-day living and ministering? Who are you reminded to reach out to or pray for?

The following reflection by Veronica Lawson RSM is offered to enrich our prayer and thinking in the coming week.
