The Gathering Place, Canberra

A simple but meaningful ceremony took place recently to symbolise the transfer of use of The Gathering Place to Megan Leyton and her Simply Mindful Team. Maree Marsh CSB represented the Brigidine Sisters at the ritual where an ornamental pear tree was planted to symbolise the “new”.

In her reflection Megan stated that her wish is “to be intentional about what we do here at the Gathering Place, why we’re here, recognising that this is a special place and honouring all those who have contributed to it”.

The ritual was a fitting way of acknowledging and honouring The Gathering Place, it’s heritage – the traditional indigenous custodians, the Brigidine Sisters, Lorraine Gatehouse CSB and Meryl Bollard. It was also about expressing gratitude and setting intentions for a new chapter.

Brigidine Sisters wish every blessing for Megan and her team as they begin!
