Who Do You Say I Am?

Having a sense of one’s identity and being true to it is perhaps one of the great adventures of life! Being accepted for who we are and as we are, is one of life’s true gifts! In the Gospel from Matthew 16:13 – 19 which is read in Christian communities on the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, during Year A, both Jesus and Matthew’s community grapple with these issues.

What identity issues are key for you during the changed circumstances caused by the current pandemic when you are unable to be and do many of the things that you’ve taken for granted in life and ministry?

In what ways has your understanding of Jesus deepened across time? How do you see him and his call to choose life?

During this time of lockdown, when many of us are unable to gather in Jesus’ name, in what ways do you find yourself pondering about being part of a Christian community into the future?
