The Brigidine Sisters applaud with gratitude, the contribution of Jane Keogh csb and Libby Saunders to advocacy and devoted action in support of refugees and asylum seekers in Australia.
The efforts of both women were recognised in the recent King’s Birthday Honours (Australia).
Libby Saunders, Project Co-ordinator at Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project (BASP), received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) Medal in acknowledgment of her service to community welfare – especially asylum seekers.
For 10 years, Libby has brought to BASP her social work and management skills, her passion for justice and her care for people seeking protection.
Libby’s generosity, wisdom and collegiality greatly enable BASP’s mission.

Jane Keogh csb received the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) Medal, acknowledging her significant service to the community through social welfare advocacy, and to primary education.
Since 2001 Jane has been advocating for asylum seekers and refugees and she has no intention of slowing down!
Jane continues her advocacy with compassion and hope for the future.
