World Homeless Day

On October 10, people around the world mark World Homeless Day in many different ways and plan action to improve the lives of homeless people in their local communities.

The inaugural World Homeless Day was observed in October 2010.

Since its founding, World Homeless Day has been observed on every continent except Antarctica, and in several dozen countries.

You’re invited to go to the following link for further information and to learn of various ways in which people of all nations and faiths mark this occasion and take action to address some of the complexities that lead to people becoming homeless.

Brigidine Sisters remember that their founder, Bishop Daniel Delany was a man who saw a need in the Irish society in which he lived and invited the early communities of Brigidines to respond to the needs of that time in the spirit of Brigid of Kildare,  a woman of hospitality especially to those in need.

Brigidines today continue to strive to keep alive that vision and spirit in this time.
