Care for our common home
The Season of Creation ends on 4 October, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
The Season encouraged us on a spiritual journey, inviting us to take time to consider the ways we might consciously listen, hear and respond to the voice of creation.
Consider:
The divine communicates to us primarily through the language of the natural world.
Not to hear the natural world is not to hear the divine. – Thomas Berry.

In a recent newsletter, the International Union Superiors General (UISG) sends a message to not simply close an annual celebration, but to reflect on how care for our common home continues to shape our daily choices and our mission. The UISG reminds us that:
“the effects of climate change are increasingly visible across the world,
particularly in the lives of people and communities who are poor and vulnerable.”
Sister Maamalifar, Coordinator of the UISG-USG Commission for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), reflects on the impact of our way of living, the responsibility entrusted to humanity, and on care for creation as an encounter with Divine Mystery.
