International Day of the Girl Child

International Day of the Girl Child

On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly declared 11 October as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognise the rights of the girls and the unique challenges girls face around the world. Discrimination and violence against girls and violations of their human rights still happen.

The Brigidine Sisters join with Good Shepherd Australia and New Zealand in raising awareness to promote the rights of girls and address the unique challenges they face every day.

GSANZ is inviting you to take action. Go to:www.goodshepherd.com.au/blog/international-day-girl-child and help Good Shepherd to increase hope for disadvantaged, marginalised, and oppressed girls.
