Less than a week after Pope Francis called on ‘all people of good will’ to care for our common home (Laudate Deum), he responded with ”apprehension and sorrow” to the unimaginable suffering taking place in Israel and Palestine saying, “War is always defeat!” He invited everyone to pray for peace in Israel and Palestine. Our Brigidine Congregation joins with Pope Francis, our communities, colleagues and friends in praying for all those suffering and grieving in these times.
We are called to be people of strength and gentleness – to foster reconciliation, inclusion, justice and Peace – wherever we are, in whatever ways we can.

– Prayer for Peace in Israel and Palestine. by Rose Marie Berger: Here
Brigid, you were a woman of peace,
You brought harmony where there was conflict.
You brought light to the darkness.
You brought hope to the downcast.
May the mantle of your peace cover those who are troubled and anxious,
And may peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.
