The Melbourne – based Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project (BASP), founded in 2001,  continues to work with and for people seeking asylum.  


BASP advocates for a more just and humane national response and offers information and awareness within the community.

ADVOCACY:

Enable people to live with dignity in Australia.

After a year of deliberation, a small group of five writers has developed a policy brief on the need for Australia to grant permanent residence for long-term refugees and people seeking asylum.

The writers of the paper are: Sr Brigid Arthur, Assoc. Prof. Sara Dehm, Dr Caroline Fleay, Marie Hapke, Prof. Philomena Murray Assoc. Prof. Anthea Vogl.
