The theme of World Water Day 2024 (22 March) is Water for Peace – drawing attention to water as intrinsic to all aspects of the interconnected community of life.
Whether in rivers, lakes or oceans, water means life to ecosystems, agriculture, industry and human well-being.
World Water Day also highlights the need to recognise and respect water scarcity globally. About 2.2 billion people still lack access to clean drinking water.
